Ingredients

  • 1 cup coarse cornmeal
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • sugar, to taste

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix cornmeal with 2 cups water until well combined.
  • Filter the mixture into a saucepan, removing all solid particles.
    Add the remaining 2 cups water and the cinnamon stick to the pot.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens (about 10-15 minutes).
  • Remove the pan from the heat and let it cool.
    Once cooled, add vanilla extract, condensed milk, sweetened condensed milk and sugar to taste.
    Mix well until everything is combined.
  • Strain the mixture to remove any remaining solids.
    Cool in the refrigerator before serving.
